Help Support Health Equity in Oregon
Support funding and expanding the regional health equity coalition program through SB 528 and SB 530
Oregon’s SB 528 and SB 530 are essential to improving health equity across the state. These bills will provide needed resources and support to the Regional Health Equity Coalitions (RHECs), which are community-led groups from underserved communities committed to improving health in Oregon.
The goal is to make sure everyone, no matter where they live or their background, has the chance to be healthy. SB 528 and SB 530 will help by increasing funding for RHECs, expanding their work, and adding three new RHECs across the state to reach even more communities. These bills will also adjust funding to match the rising costs of providing these important services.
our vision:
health for everyone in Oregon
We envision a future where everyone in Oregon has equal opportunities to live healthy, fulfilling lives and reach their full potential. We believe that barriers related to race, gender, sexuality, income, disability, rural living, or any other social factors should no longer stand in the way of anyone's health and well-being.
Why Support SB 528 and SB 530?
-
expansion in rural areas
Counties that don’t have a RHEC report some of the worst health outcomes in the state. Growing the RHECs will help communities and agencies work together to address public health issues.
-
everyone benefits
Tackling health disparities increases the well-being, safety, and standard of living for all Oregonians.
-
supports community-based solutions
The bills empower local leaders and support local, community-driven initiatives that understand and address the specific health needs of their own populations, leading to more effective and culturally relevant solutions.
